Take this Roman heart

Another splendid show with a band that seemed more relaxed than in Milan, at least Edge and Larry smiled a lot more and seemed to really enjoy themselves. Now that the filming was over, the light was back to its normal intensity so it was possible to take decent pictures again. You'll find them here. Another set from Martin is available here.

During I Will Follow, Bono spotted an inflatable bottle in the crowd and gestured that he wanted that bottle. When it had reached the front row, he realized that it had some Heineken advertisement on it, and so he said "I don't think they need any more advertising... We want to advertise love! We want to advertise soul! Imagination!" A guy was pulled on stage at the beginning of Elevation and, after a short conversation with Bono, spoke an Italian phrase into the microphone which Bono then translated into English: "Tonight, Ireland and Italy are getting married!" Miss Sarajevo was dedicated "to all the families, all the lives destroyed, broken by what happened today in Egypt". A girl was pulled on stage during With Or Without You, wiping off Bono's sweaty forehead with a hairband. Bono then put the hairband around his wrist. Very nice moment.

What's left to say? An awesome time has come to an end, and we want to say thank you Italy for three unforgettable shows. It was our first time to see U2 in Italy and we were overwhelmed with the enthusiasm and the passion of the Italian audience. We'll return home more than satisfied and with the crowd's singing of the Vertigo guitar riff still ringing in our ears.

PS: We apologize to all people who sent photos during the last couple of days which haven't been put up yet. We'll try to catch up with everything on Monday when we will be back home.
