Monterrey Setlist

It's been almost two months, but U2 are back live! The fourth leg of the Vertigo Tour began today in the Mexican city of Monterrey, and the main set opened by utilising the format used for many of the European stadium shows through the middle of last year. Vertigo reclaimed its position as the opener and The Electric Co. returned despite its vanishing act over the last couple of months of the third leg. One setlist feature carried over from the third leg was the performance of Original Of The Species in what was formerly Miracle Drug's setlist position, and the biggest surprise of the night was the performance of Bad in the main set, after Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own. An aesthetic change involved the modification of the Where The Streets Have No Name graphics: previously, African flags have been displayed on screen, but these have now been changed to flags from Latin American countries.

The encore did not bear the same resemblances to the European sets that the main set did. Instead, it opened with a typically third leg combination, but the usage of a repeat performance of Vertigo to close the show harked back to Europe, where almost every show closed in such a manner.

For the trivia buffs, this was the first U2 concert in Mexico outside of Mexico City. On previous visits, U2 played four indoor concerts in Mexico City on ZOO TV and two stadium concerts in Mexico City on Popmart (the second of the two is the one on the official Popmart live video).

The full setlist was:
