U2 Start European Tour In Dublin?

(XFM.co.uk) -- According to new reports, U2 will be starting the European tour for their upcoming new album ‘How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb’ with two hometown dates in Dublin next June.

Ireland's Sunday Business Post claims that the band will be playing Croke Park Stadium on June 26 and 27, with a possible third date pencilled in on the 28 if there’s sufficient demand.

The stage for the venue will be located on the newly developed Hill 16 area and up to 80,000 tickets will be sold for each gig. The venue has reportedly been in financial crisis with debts of up to €98 million, so the alleged booking would come as great news to The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) who own the event complex as it would bring in a considerable amount of money.

U2 previously played two Croke Park concerts in front of a total of 120,000 fans in 1986 and performed at the stadium during the opening of last year's Special Olympics.

U2 release their new album ‘How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb’ on November 22 preceded by a new single ‘Vertigo’ on November 8.
