Report from Brisbane, 02/11
There are only five more sleeps to go until the Vertigo Tour recommences, and more U2 news has come from Brisbane today, most notably the exciting news that U2 have begun to soundcheck. Footage from Australia's Channel 10 news showed the band signing autographs and talking to fans on the Gold Coast before flying by helicopter to the Queensland Sports and Athletics Centre, where the stage is now completely set up.
Furthermore, we are aware that despite reports suggesting U2 would begin rehearsals on Friday, they actually did some soundchecking today. We have very few details on what the band performed at the soundcheck. Bono reportedly told a fan that U2 are rehearsing Kite and plan to do something special with it.
We believe that U2 have permission to rehearse at QSAC over the next four days during normal business hours, 9am to 5pm. Past precedent would suggest that U2 will rehearse primarily in the afternoon, but of course, that was the past and this is the present and anything could happen. If you happen to be at or near the stadium and overhear the band soundchecking, we appreciatively welcome any submission of details. We will attempt to be at the stadium as much as possible to provide detailed reports, but we naturally have other commitments and cannot be there at all hours!
More to come ...!
